On March 1st and 2nd, the National Surveyors Conference was held at the Shaw Center in Ottawa, gathering the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors (AOLS), the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors (ACLS) and the Order of Quebec Land Surveyors (OAGQ). This was a one of a kind event for Canada’s 150th anniversary. It has highlighted the contribution of land surveyors to the development of the country, while emphasizing the cohesion of the members of these three associations and their partners. One of the conferences focused on the involvement of land surveyors during the disaster in the town of Lac-Mégantic. For its part, Geolocation had been mandated urgently by the Government of Quebec to carry out the LiDAR surveys of the region. This conference was a great opportunity to meet new business partners from Ontario.
