ÎLES-DE-LA-MADELEINE – LIDAR TOPO-BATHYMETRIC SURVEYS TO MONITOR SHORELINE EROSION AND SEABED DISPLACEMENT

Bathymétrie_érosion

The Îles-de-la-Madeleine are increasingly exposed to erosion. In recent years, numerous studies have been carried out on the subject, and erosion control projects have been implemented or are underway in some of the more critical areas.

To this end, Géolocation was commissioned to carry out three major phases of airborne LiDAR topo-bathymetric data acquisition and aerial photography in 2022 and 2023. The aim of these acquisitions was to produce digital models of the natural terrain along the banks and the seabed in problematic areas, so as to be able to compare the surfaces in question at different times, and analyze soil movement and erosion.
