Prior to any development project related to road transport, the involvement of the land-surveyor is required for the production of plans showing the accurate mapping of the territory, the topography and the existing land registry. The realization of conventional land surveys involving access to road allowances may be binding, especially along the main highways and in the large urban centres. To overcome this issue, Géolocation has applied its skills and expertise in photogrammetry in order to produce digital terrain models on highway sections located on the South Shore of Montreal. The use of aerial photographs at very high resolution (2.25 cm) allowed the production of a mapping at an accuracy nearly equivalent to the one resulting from a conventional ground survey, and thus giving to customer entire satisfaction for the requirements of completed projects.
