At Fall 2023, Géolocation won a mandate from the Direction générale de l’information géospatiale to carry out airborne laser surveys (lidar) at a density of 15 pts/m² over the entire CMM’s territory. This mandate included the classification of data, including ground and buildings.
In November 2025, Géolocation generated 3D models of the approximately 1 376 160 buildings in the Montreal Metropolitan Community using the high-density point cloud that we had created and classified. We are very proud of this achievement.
